The artistic talent of Erin Callahan Blum has always been expressed in her life. Taking a natural gift for art, Erin started her career with a degree in the Graphic Arts. This career was put on hold with the birth of her first child. Despite the cares and responsibilities of raising her five children, Erin found time to explore the world of watercolor. Taking classes and producing gifts for friends and family developed a warm and distinct technique to her work. By using vibrant color and playful shapes, Erin highlights the unique life hidden within landscapes and flowers. Her skill and persistence soon resulted in commissions. She has works hanging on walls around the country/world.
Currently at a less hectic period in her life, Erin has been able to indulge in creative expression and has let her work explore broader horizons. Merging her background in the Graphic Arts with a natural desire to share her work with a wider audience, Erin has expanded into the world of Giclee printing. This natural progression, combined with an interest in the area she lives in, inspired her “Concert in the Park” painting which mirrors “small-town America”. The band shelter with musicians also inspired the logo design which is being used by the Grafton Area Live Arts on t-shirts, signage and other advertising.
Nearby Milwaukee’s unique/exciting historical architecture, has been the subject of her “Milwaukee Montage Series.”
Family weddings inspired “Calla Lilies Forever”, “Romance”, “Always” and "Serendipity". Some of her works are available in note cards.
She is a member of the League of Milwaukee Artists, WI Painters & Sculptors, and the Cedarburg Artists Guild.
